KREIA is an non-profit association of Kentucky Home Inspectors, staffed by unpaid volunteers, with a focus on educating Kentucky Home Inspectors and public awareness of the Kentucky Home Inspection profession, particularly KREIA members.
KREIA has no authority to discipline home inspectors.
The disciplinary authority for Kentucky Home Inspectors is the Kentucky State Government’s Board of Home Inspectors. Complaints regarding Kentucky Home Inspectors should be addressed to the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors.
From the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors website:
“The purpose of the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors is to administer and enforce the statutory authority and to monitor the needs of the consuming public. The board examines and certifies all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of home inspection. It recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality. The board conducts formal hearings when necessary and prosecutes by due process any violators of KRS 198B.700 – KRS 198B.738.“

The Kentucky Real Estate Inspectors Association (KREIA) is a non-profit association that provides the Inspector Locator service to connect individuals with our members. KREIA does not make any representation or warranty as to the quality of inspections done by its members and does not endorse any services or products of any member or company. All of KREIA’s members agree to conduct their home inspections according to specific standards adopted by certain national organizations, as well as the Standards of Practice adopted by the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors and set forth in Chapter 815, Section 6 of the Kentucky Administrative Regulations. These Standards provide a minimum guideline for conducting a home inspection. Ask your inspector for a copy of the Standards of Practice & Code of Ethics, which they have adopted, prior to your inspection.
