Inspectors will better understand structural defects, the signs and options available including how to report it, standards of practice, when to disclaim items or recommend an engineer to better serve the client. This presentation includes real world case studies to help the inspector understand how this information can play out legally. Technical topics to be covered include sub-slab work, foundation walls, framing, flooring, ceilings, and roofing. Report writing will also be reviewed along with proper documentation.

This course teaches inspectors how to prepare home inspection reports in compliance with state law and protect themselves without using scare tactics or creating any animosity.

We discuss the top five claims against home inspectors which include water damage, roof, foundation, mold and plumbing issues. We’ll look at the claim basics like what to look for, how to report it, what are the best practices to help prevent such claims and typical claim scenarios. Inspectors will gain a better understand of how to report on these scenarios to increase consumer understanding and limit liability at the same time.

Safe egress from a residential structure is a matter of public safety. This course will detail the International Rescue Committee’s (IRC) recommendations for occupant safety including size, location and access to rescue avenues, when they are necessary and other physical attributes of a home to consider from a safe egress point of view. Especially but not limited to the location and use of a variety of window opening glazings and how they are interpreted in the case of egress. We’ll discuss the best practices for emergency escape and rescue openings (EERO) to ensure occupants can safely exit the property in the event of a fire or other emergency.

2604 Drones in the Inspection Industry

This course is designed to educate inspectors about drones and their uses in the inspection industry. Inspectors will better understand the differences in drones and their capabilities and the benefits of choosing the right drone. Inspectors will be educated in the aircraft components and the significance of each to help when choosing a drone with the right capabilities. We’ll cover the current drone laws and education requirements to use this technology. Included are case studies using images captured over the course of 1000+ real life inspections.
